Sunken Garden & Parking

The Brief

To rescue an overgrown out of control garden and establish two distinct areas. An upper functional off-road parking area and a lower sunken walled garden to have a journey too, surrounded by a new harnessed planting scheme.

The Concept

The upper functional off-road parking area was created using a hard-wearing interlocking gravel within an edged area and the new planting scheme keeps interest and visual curb appeal within the functional area.

The lower sunken garden was where we could integrate some exciting ideas and focus on creating a private retreat to catch the sun and enjoy being in the garden again! We’ve used reclaimed cobble sets to build a circular patio where huge feature boulders wrap around and circumference and create a graded bank for the new planting scheme to work in.

A journey to a new garden bench set within some boulders is now the spot to view the transformation and one of our natural stone walls creates this sunken garden feel and step down into this lower area.

A great achievement in the space of two weeks to combine functional parking needs with an exciting lower private sunken garden and made even better to know it was for a wonderful client, thank you A!
